FONLAD 10th ANNIVERSARY

Video Art and Performance Encounters in Montemor-o-Velho

With the aim of celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Fonlad Festival – International Video Art and Performance Festival presents, on October 17th, in Montemor-o-Velho, an international Video Art encounter.

Ten artistic interventions, distributed along a trail of medieval walls, will surprise visitors by the contrast between artistic contemporary codes and the ancient historical aspect of the quiet village of Montemor-o-Velho.

The participant artists are offered the challenge of presenting their art projects – originally made for an urban context – in an environment that is entirely different from the one they were initially planned for.

A double challenge is, therefore, created for both artists and the public, which sets an unusual tone where the encounter is concerned, for it is not often that Performance and Video Art installations, two different forms of artistic expression, take place in a same place and event. The success of this event is the outcome of a decade of team work and friendship and the will to celebrate it.

Instalação montada em uma casa abandonada em Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal.

Uma casa antiga, abandonada, com uma arquitetura impar.

São 3 pavimentos com menos de 3 metros de largura e praticamente cada cômodo em um piso.

Logo na entrada, o fogo da lareira a arder, a artista recria em uma performance, cenas do vídeo exibido no último piso. Retirando de uma mala, antigas fotografias que vão sendo queimadas, por ela, uma a uma.

Velas posicionadas no piso, orientam o caminho até a projeção do vídeo Que o tempo passe vendo-me ficar, projetado no quarto juntamente com o mobiliário desta antiga casa.

Tudo que se encontra dentro da casa foi utilizado na ambientação da instalação ocupando a casa na sua totalidade.
